Tempo-Time under tension.
This week we are focusing on Tempo work and skill practice. Why Tempo? Strength benefits and gains! If we always rush the reps and go for max loads and speed we lose the connection to muscle and prevent growth.
Slow down, feel the muscles working and lighten the load to gain those extra fibres at work!
Another focus this week is skill practice. Pick your skill you want to improve and spend time with smaller sets and perfect reps to make the progress you want to achieve. Perfect reps are better than volume when trying to improve on a gymnastic skill-this will lead to strength gains down the road but the building blocks need to be in place so start small and slow.
